Information theory

Information theory analyzes the mathematical parameters needed to communicate data and information. The field seeks to optimize data transmission for speed and efficiency. Examples of research conducted in this field at ASU include optimizing data transmission from power grids’ phasor measurement unit monitoring systems and improving cybersecurity for information and power networks.
