Electric vehicles
Electric vehicles are slated to replace traditional vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. As they become more ubiquitous, electric vehicles will need a steady supply of engineers to create them. Arizona State University is home to the Center for Efficient Vehicles and Sustainable Transportation Systems, which conducts research into electric vehicles in collaboration with industry and other academic institutions. Examples of the center’s projects include “High Frequency Power Converters for Electric Vehicles” and “High Performance Rare-Earth Free and Efficiency-Shifting Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine for Electrified Vehicles.”
